Ovarian Cancer Early Detection Test
This project, supported by CAMILLA AND MARC™, envisages a sensitive and specific blood test that can detect the earliest ovarian cancer-related changes in DNA.
Ovarian Cancer Liquid Biopsy Project
The ovarian cancer liquid biopsy project uses ascites (pelvic fluid), a waste product of a common medical procedure as the template for a liquid biopsy to illuminate the ideal treatment plan.
Endometrial cancer targeted therapy
Rates of endometrial cancer are growing alarmingly in Australia. While for many people the survival prognosis of endometrial cancer is promising, one in four people develop particularly aggressive disease. We are working to establish new treatment options for these individuals.
3D Model of Ovarian Cancer Metastasis
Metastasis is a key driver of the devastating mortality rates of ovarian cancer. We have developed a 3D model of the metastatic micro-environment, which we can use to study the effects of novel drugs and treatments on cancerous and healthy cells. The approach offers an ethical alternative to animal models.
ITHACA - Ovarian Cancer Drug Screening
This interdisciplinary international project uses computational methods to create patient-specific models of ovarian cancer to ethically screen treatment options. The cutting-edge technology is in its early stages but personalisation of treatment will enable first-class tailored care for people with ovarian cancer.
Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a common and debilitating condition that causes severe pelvic pain and infertility. Diagnosis is difficult and invasive, meaning that treatment is often delayed. Once diagnosed, limited treatment options are available. We are working to improve the detection and treatment of endometriosis, to improve the quality of life of the many individuals impacted.
